How can I help the Conservative Party?

How can I get others helping the Conservative Party?

The most important way of helping the Conservative Party is through the local Association:

  • By being a paid up member
  • By encouraging others to become paid up members of the Conservative Party
  • By encouraging others to vote for our local Conservative candidates in forthcoming elections, (local & General)
  • By becoming a candidate for local Government elections in Shrewsbury

Become a Member

Members play an active role in the Party, and receive important voting rights in Party elections. As a Member, you’ll be able to:

- Decide who represents the Party in local and general elections
- Vote in elections for the Party Leader and in your local Association’s AGM
- Attend Party Conferences

In addition, you’ll receive:

- Access to our Affinity Programme which provides great discounts on a wide range of products
- A membership card and welcome booklet
- Regular social events

Becoming a Member costs £39 a year - or £10 a year if you’re under 26 years old - or armed forces £25 a year.

Joining as a Patron allows you access to our Patrons Programme. This includes a number of events throughout the year, business breakfasts with MP's. Specialist events are designed to make the most of your Patrons Membership.

- Access to our exclusive Patrons Programme
- A membership card and welcome booklet

If you have any other suggestions that we could use to improve the patrons offer then do not hesitate to contact us.

If you have a little more time, you might like to consider volunteering:

  • Helping to deliver one of our “In Touch’ Newsletters in your local area.
  • Writing an article or helping to design an article for the “In Touch” Newsletters.
  • Helping with fundraising by attending or supporting one of our social events (See Events page)
  • During an election period: leafleting, canvassing, telling, and displaying Conservative election posters/boards on your property.

And if you think we’ve missed anything……. LET US KNOW!

Being a member of the Shrewsbury Conservative Association means that you have joined the most open and democratic political party in Britain. After the first three months of your membership, you will be entitled to a vote in Party ballots. You will also have a chance to influence Party policy by letting us know your views.
