Ian has lived in Shrewsbury for over 20 years and he, his wife and daughter love the town and the wonderful county of Shropshire. They live in Bowbrook division now although previously at The Old Meadow.. Ian contested the Abbey Division at the local elections in 2019 increasing the Conservative share of the vote significantly. They have a daughter, Ellie, who many of you will know and Ellie was blessed by being able to go to Hope House Children's Hospice for over 16 years. They continue to support Hope House whenever they can and Ian has successfully completed the longest and fastest Zipwire in the world to raise money for them. Ian and his family support other charities locally including Riding for the Disabled (RDA) which over the years played a significant part in Ellie's development.
Being full-time carers for over 21 years Ian and his wife appreciate the demands on carers and the challenges people with additional needs face every day. He welcomes anyone seeking help or assistance in managing problems or issues - please do contact him if only to chat or share experiences.
Work-wise Ian was a director of a small but very successful international surveying company but also spent 20 years in Local Government and around 15 years in Central Government - latterly for Highways England.
